Vintage Canadian-made adjustable wrench.
‘McKinnon 8’ and the company’s thistle logo are embossed on one side. McKinnon Dash & Hardware company was founded in 1878 in St Catherines Ontario (as McKinnon and Mitchell Hardware). In 1907, the company was named the largest employer of skilled labor in the Niagara Peninsula by the Board of Trade, and in 1909, they formed a separate company for their chain manufacturing, which still exists today as Columbus McKinnon. After founder L.E. McKinnon‘s death, the company became McKinnon Industries ltd. and was sold to GM in 1929.
