The sickle is one of the most ancient of harvesting tools, consisting of a curved metal blade attached to a short wooden handle. This vintage sickle was made by W. A. Tyzack & Co. of Sheffield England, a company established in 1868. Adding the ‘Horseman’ brand to their trademark in 1948, they expanded dramatically and exported throughout the Commonwealth. This well used sickle has been researched and restored by members of our Vintage Tool Group.
